The EU Council approved in its 29 May 2015 conclusions the 2015-2020 roadmap of the European Research Area.
The objective of the roadmap is to identify and focus on measures that will have the greatest impact for the realization of the ERA.
These measures are an operational implementation of each of the priorities of the ERA, which are:
-more effective research of national systems;
-optimal transnational cooperation and competition ;
-an open labor market for researchers;
-gender equality and gender mainstreaming in research;
-optimal circulation and transfer of scientific knowledge , including via a digital age.
-international cooperation.
The Council conclusions call on Member States , with the support of the European Commission, to implement appropriate actions in their national plans or strategies by mid- 2016, to achieve the objectives of the six priorities of the ERA
